Stopping The Violence (STV) Women’s Counselling
Whether or not you are ready to leave, counselling can help you understand yourself and your situation
This is a free service providing individual or group counselling for women who have
-Experienced violence in relationships
-Experienced sexual assault
-Experienced childhood abuse or violence
The service is available to all women including aboriginal women, women of colour, women with disabilities, lesbians, bisexual women, transgendered women, immigrant women, sex trade workers and older women.
Counselling is short-term, typically between 8-10 sessions, which may be extended in some circumstances. The sessions are one hour long with the exception of the intake session, which takes approximately 30 minutes.

Eligibility
For women 19 years of age or older, who live in the Comox Valley or surrounding area, and who have previously experienced or are currently experiencing:
violence of any kind (physical, emotional or psychological);
sexual assault; or
childhood abuse or violence.
Young women under 19 years of age and leading an adult lifestyle are also eligible for this program
