Snoezelen Room
This is a very special way for people to encounter a rich and stimulating environment. It is a popular experience for many...
Snoezelen (snoo-za-len) is a combination of two Dutch verbs: "Snuffelen," which means to seek out and explore, and "Doezelen," to relax.
Experience a magical tailored environment which blends sight, sound, texture, and light...gently stimulating the primary senses. There is no need for intellectual reasoning...
Choose to play in space, under the sea, or be surrounded by soft friendly kittens and puppies. Float down into the ball pit, cuddle in the tent, or change the colour and speed of the bubble tube with the large, easily-manipulated buttons.
Free from the expectation of others and the pressures of directed care, Snoezelen Room participants experience self-directed exploration, relaxation, or stimulation...leaving them to respond to these new sensations in their own unique ways.
Research has shown that multi-sensory environments can offer visual, auditory, and kinesthetic benefits, often affording the participant and companion an opportunity to improve communications, enhance their understanding of each other, and building trust in their relationship.
