Peer Support
Our Peer Support program allows concussion and brain injury survivors to work through their challenges in a safe and supportive environment with mentors who understand what they’re going through. Our Peer Support volunteers are trained to facilitate group discussions, share their experiences, answer questions about brain injury, and pass on helpful coping techniques.
Apart from regular Peer Support sessions, which take place every week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, VBIS also hosts a Women’s Peer Support Group on Monday mornings. The Women’s Peer Support Group provides brain injury survivors who identify as female with a safe, inclusive place to talk about their experiences, share strategies for dealing with brain injury, community resources, and a sense of hope and home.
