We believe everyone should have access to quality health care, regardless of their ability to pay. All our mental health services are offered free of charge.
Career Planning
Career planning is a mental-health intervention and a well-being practice. This means that your work and life are in alignment with your mental health needs. What people do each day shapes who they are and how they feel about their daily lives.
Bus Ticket Access Program
The Bus Ticket Access Program exists to reduce transportation barriers for racialized women in Greater Victoria who are experiencing financial hardship or limited access to transit. By providing single-use BC Transit bus tickets, the program supports access to essential needs such as work, education, health care, cultural activities, and daily life tasks.
Dental Hygiene Clinic
SNIWWOC Dental Hygiene Clinic opens once a month on Sunday for low-income racialized women and their accompanied minors. The service is provided through a partnership with Pacifica Dental.
Hygiene Kits and Traditional Medicines Program
Hygiene essentials are crucial for our daily well-being, but their cost often strains monthly budgets. In our commitment to enhance the lives of our community, particularly underserved members, we offer a hygiene kit. This kit comprises a bath purse, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, toothpaste, sanitary pads, soap, and deodorant.
Menstrual Freedom Program
SNIWWOC’s Menstrual Freedom Program provides free reusable menstrual cups to low-income BIPOC menstruators in Greater Victoria, reducing the cost of period care. It supports Black, Indigenous, and Women of Colour, as well as transgender, non-binary, and Two-Spirit individuals, promoting better access to menstrual products and eco-conscious health solutions.
Corporate Training
SNIWWOC supports organizations, schools, and communities in developing affirming spaces for all people, including gender-expansive, and queer racialized people.
Our work includes anti-racism training and audits, gender equity training, gender bias workshops, and supporting organizations as they work towards inclusion and reconciliation.
