WHEELS (Full-Time)
Participants who attend WHEELS on a full time basis in their 13th year, experience a wide-range of learning opportunities through direct instruction, assigned work tasks, our guest speaker series, community volunteer/work-experience and other. By providing ongoing feedback and the opportunity to practice in a safe and nurturing environment, participants learn technical skills and the essential skills needed to be successful in the workplace. When ready to job search, participants benefit from the support by our Employment Facilitator who has built and maintained ongoing relationships with many employers in the community. Job search is focused around participant interest, ability and readiness to work.

WHEELS follows the school calendar and students are typically on the resource teacher’s caseload. Acceptance to the program is on a case-by-case basis.

Many participants are supported with bus training throughout the year to ensure attendance at WHEELS and ultimately, work! Referrals through Case Managers.

Job Coach Secondary students can access Job Coach to receive support with developing resumes, interview skills and job search strategies all in an effort to secure a part-time or summer job while attending school. Referrals through Case Managers.

Work Experience Secondary students can access support for work experiences in the community or on sight at the WHEELS location on a part-time schedule. Referrals through Case Managers.

Experiential Days Grade 12 students are provided with a 2 day opportunity to experience a variety of WHEELS activities so as to determine if they would like to attend full-time in their 13th year. Referrals through Case Managers.
