Services for Children, Family, and Youth
1. Summer at the Skate Park for Youth
Kootenay Family Place’s Summer at the Skatepark invites you to free drop skateboard coaching at Castlegar Rotary Skatepark each summer through the months of July and August. Three coaches provide excellent instruction in skateboarding skills such as stance, carving, stopping, falling safely, transition skateboarding and some basic flatland tricks. The program offers free skateboards, helmets and pads to use.

2. Nobody's Perfect Parenting Series

3. Circle of Security Parent Training
The Circle of Security Parent Training comes highly recommended as one of the most valuable training tools for parents. Kootenay Family Place have trained facilitators who offer this training throughout the Kootenay Region.

4. Kootenay Family Place Family Resource Program happens every Wednesday morning from 10am to 12pm. The program offers a safe, age-appropriate environment for children and families, and a space for moms to connect and network with other moms while their children engage in play time, crafts, circle time, stories and a snack. Parents are encouraged to connect with other families, but especially use the time to connect with their child(ren) through play.

5. Beautiful Beginnings (CPNP – Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program)
Support and Resources for Pregnant and New Parents with newborns up to 1 year old in the Castlegar and Slocan Valley Area.

6. Conversation Club
The focus of the group is to engage each other in the English language, while still sharing and appreciating the diverse cultures that make up our country.
