Brain Injury Support
The South Okanagan Similkameen Brain Injury Society (SOSBIS) is a non-profit organization made up of brain injured people, family members, and professionals dedicated to assisting survivors and their families to achieve the greatest level of independence and quality of life.
SOSBIS serves individuals with diagnosed or suspected Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) in order to maximize their quality of life, through:
Promoting knowledge and understanding of the needs of persons with ABI,
Prevention education to individuals, families, caregivers and the community at large,
Providing assistance to survivors, individuals, families and caregivers effected by ABI through facilities, programs and housing,
Assisting individuals with ABI to access community based supports and services,
Advocating for those effected by ABI,
Homeless Outreach and Mental Health programs and services.
