Day Services
The SCACL Day Program offers a range of activities that involve people with developmental disabilities with their own peer group and with the community as a whole. Involving individuals in their community allows them to expand their citizenship and may present vocational opportunities to those interested in work.
Programming is designed to minimize social isolation and to develop skills. The activities provide opportunities for self esteem and skill development through vocational, educational, recreational and social programming. Partners in programming include Community Living BC, Persephone Farms Ltd., School District #46 and Vancouver Coastal Health. Goals of the program:
- To expand each individual participants role in the community
- To build relationships based on commonality
- To assist participants towards self determination, responsibility and independence with respect to individual social needs
