The Family Respite Centre is the first independent, purpose-built, community-based respite centre in Canada. We offer a homelike environment where seniors with cognitive decline or physical frailties receive temporary care, benefiting from the care of our dedicated nursing staff, advanced recreational and therapeutic programs and the opportunity to socialize with other guests, staff and volunteers.

Since it opened in 2000, the Family Respite Centre has helped hundreds of caregivers get a rest from the often exhausting responsibility of looking after a loved one - enabling them to get the rest they need to continue helping their loved ones remain healthy and in the comfort of their own homes. Today, we offer an Adult Day Program and an Overnight Respite Program. These programs are located in a state-of-the-art facility in a quiet south Vancouver residential neighbourhood. Our 9,436 sq. ft. Centre features innovative client-focused design; enhanced recreation activities; spa including the latest therapeutic bath and hair dressing area; and restful retreat areas.

Our goal is to help maintain and improve the social, physiological, emotional and cognitive abilities of guests to enhance their quality of life.
