About this resource

Deaf, DeafBlind and Hard of Hearing individuals continue to face daily challenges and contend with issues of exclusion in employment, education and social settings due to communication barriers. Wavefront Centre provides employment counselling services to support the well-being of Deaf, DeafBlind and Hard of Hearing British Columbians.

Our Employment Services provide the following services:

-Employment counselling and supports
-Employment Resource Centre (access to computers, TTY, printer and webcam)
-Employment Service Workshops (resume and interview preparation; job search; job readiness activities)
-Occupational Skill Enhancement training
-Workplace assessments
-Workplace sensitivity training
-Disability supports applications (funding for assistive equipment such as hearing aids and alerting devices)
-Community presentations
-Employer and employee liaisons
-Employment Services are available at our Quebec Street Office in Vancouver, and our Tri-Cities Office in Port Coquitlam
