Group Programs
Comox Valley Head Injury Society (CVHIS) offers two group programs including: Survivor's Peer Support Group and Caregiver's Support Group
Brain Injury Survivor's Peer Support Group:
The Brain Injury Survivors Peer Support Group provides an opportunity for survivors to meet for socialization in a peer environment. The group runs every Wednesday from 1pm - 2pm and offers a venue for survivors to socialize and meet friends. All acquired brain injury survivors are welcome.
Peer Support is also available during drop-in hours. Peer support is offered by Survivors with Acquired Brain Injury that have been trained to offer support services. If you are interested in becoming a peer supporter, please contact us for more information.
Caregiver's Support Group:
The Caregivers Support Group is designed for individuals who provide caring and support to a loved one with an acquired brain injury (family and friends are welcome). The Caregivers Support Group recognizes that brain injuries seriously impact families and those who provide care to brain injury survivors and offers a safe place for participants to discuss the stresses, challenges and rewards of family caregiving. This support group is facilitated by a licensed counsellor and promotes skill building for enhancing caregiver wellbeing.
