Travelling with a personal attendant
If you are not self-reliant you may be provided with an accommodation to have a personal attendant travel with you for a base fare of $0 (applicable taxes and airport fees must still be collected). Self-reliance is defined as: independent, self-sufficient and capable of taking care of all personal needs during flight; such as eating, using the lavatory or taking medication.

Eligibility
If you have been approved to travel with a personal attendant, your attendant must :
be 18 years of age or older
not personally require any assistance from WestJet or others (including service or emotional support animals)
not be responsible for the needs of any other guest on the flight including an infant or child
remain with, and be seated next to, the guest with a disability
be fully capable of attending to their own and the guest's physical and mental care needs during the flight. It is not necessary for this person to be medically trained, and they are not expected to assist the guest with transferring to and from a wheelchair and/or their seat or for placing the guest's carry-on baggage in the overhead bin (though the personal attendant may choose to perform these tasks).

If your personal attendant does not meet these criteria, you and your personal attendant will be denied transport until you are able to travel with a personal attendant who meets this criteria.
