The Club
The Club is a safe and non-judgmental space for individuals to navigate their mental health challenges and discover wellness tools on their journey towards recovery. The Club creates opportunities for people to develop skills, build confidence and improve quality of life in areas of personal life, pre-employment, education and leisure.
With the support of a facilitator, members perform tasks that are essential to the functioning of the clubhouse. Members determine how they wish to participate and what goals facilitators can assist with.
The program encourages individuals to develop work habits through a modified work experience in a variety of volunteer placements. Clients of this program have an opportunity to earn honorariums for expenses.
Opportunities to participate in the clubhouse include: vocational support, volunteer opportunities, reception skills, computer/internet lessons, daily meal preparation, grocery shopping, budgeting, outreach, orientation, hiring committee, events committee, music, art, wellness programs, and social and recreational opportunities.
Daily Activities include: Running the clubhouse, bi-monthly membership meetings, socializing, afternoon activities such as community outings, pool tournaments, music program and games.
Evening recreation activities include: games, outings, community special events.
