Clay Tree Society for People with Developmental Disabilities
Clay Tree Society Clay Tree Society currently has seven programs to seventy two individuals with developmental and physical disabilities. Each program focuses on community inclusion and activities based on personal choice in a unique environment tailored to fit the needs of the individuals being served. Every participant is involved in a personal planning process that allows them to set goals that they work towards throughout the year.
Examples include:
-Artistic expression
-International cuisine (cooking foods that are from various cultures)
-Volunteering at the Animal Shelter, Vancouver Island Thrift Store, Salvation Army Christmas Kettles, Loaves and Fishes, and Pacificare Child Centre
-Collecting the coins from the Woodgrove clock tower and cleaning, sorting and rolling the coins for the Child Development Centre.
The Clay Tree Society for People with Developmental Disabilities also provides community activities like out for lunch, walks in local parks and trails, bowling, swimming, art galleries, special events, drama, sign language, yoga, jam sessions with a local musician, games and sports, dances and karaoke.
