Workers Rights
CLAS helps workers access the benefits and legal protections for workers facing injuries, loss of employment or other work-related issues.

The insecurity of low wage work means that it may be difficult for workers to enforce their basic rights like payment for hours worked, payment for overtime, reasonable working hours, safe working conditions, and fair compensation for wrongful dismissal.

For these reasons, we focus on four key areas that relate to workers' rights:
-We work to ensure safe working conditions and, if a worker is injured in the workplace, we work to ensure there is adequate compensation for those injuries.
-If a worker is unable to work or loses employment, we work to ensure fair access to employment insurance benefits.
-In the event a worker's employment is terminated, we work to ensure that fair methods reflecting basic legal protections are used.
-We work to ensure that migrant workers are provided with the same basic employment protections as are afforded to other workers.
