Out-Of-School Care
SSCS childcare programs are committed to providing inclusive quality childcare, for children ages 2.5-12 years, where children are the heart of a respectful and collaborative community. We offer a play-based environment inspired by the BC Early Learning Framework (BCELF) and the inquiring interests of the children and educators. We use the BCELF as a guide to areas of learning including well-being and belonging, exploration and creativity, languages and literacy as well as social responsibility and diversity.
Our out of school care programs in Squamish and Pemberton have transitioned to $10 a Day ChildCareBC Centres. Children may be required to register full-time for out of school care. With the new $10 a day fee schedule, full-time childcare is now less expensive than attending out of school care two or more days per week.
Squamish Out of School Care Programs 8 – 9 am, 3 – 6 pm
We offer care for children aged 5-12 at five locations in Squamish: Mamquam, Brackendale, Squamish, Garibaldi Highlands, and Valleycliffe Elementary Schools. The programs operate when school is in session. Activities include arts and crafts, science and exploration, and local field trips. The structured activities are balanced by unstructured activities such as free play, outdoor play, art, music, rest, and snacks.
Pemberton Out of School Care Programs 3 – 6 pm
The after-school care program gives children the opportunity for indoor structured and unstructured activities including arts and crafts, science and exploration, rest and snacks as well as outdoor play.
Waitlist registration for Out of School Care is now open.
