Special Olympics BC Burnaby

About this resource

Special Olympics BC provides high-quality sports programs and competitions that help people with intellectual disabilities celebrate personal achievement and gain confidence, skills and friendships.

Special Olympics BC Burnaby welcomes athletes from a wide range of ages, backgrounds, interests and levels of ability, and provides a range of opportunities that are suitable to diverse needs. Athletes may choose to train year-round in one or many of our sporting programs offered, or choose to participate recreationally, or aim to compete at regional, provincial, national, or world competitions.

Special Olympics BC - Burnaby is home to 150 athletes who participate in 15 fall and spring sports, including: 5-pin bowling, 10-pin bowling, alpine skiing, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, curling, swimming, basketball, Club Fit, floor hockey, athletics, bocce, golf, and softball. Also offered are youth programs Active Start (age 2-6) and FUNdamentals (age 7-11).

Special Olympics BC - Burnaby is always looking for new athletes and volunteers who enjoy fitness, making friends, and having fun!
