Medical Equipment Division
Our Medical Equipment Division (MED) of CIL plays an important role in the delivery of healthcare. This program provides consumers with quality medical aids and equipment that is needed to improve their health and well-being and at the same time give them a feeling of being independent.
Other benefits include:
-Improved safety for physically disabled clients
-Reduction of falling accidents by patients and caregivers
-Help improve recovery time
-Early discharge from hospital reducing healthcare costs
-Encourages self-motivation and independence in patients
-For this program to succeed in helping those accessing our services, we require donations from the community. Without those donations, we wouldn’t have the beds, scooters, chairs and assorted other pieces of equipment that is requested on a daily basis from many that have no other way of obtaining this equipment.
1) Equipment Loans:
We offer a wide use of equipment such as beds, scooters, lifts , chairs and an assortment of other widely used medical devices. Generally, we will loan equipment for a period of up to three months. It is advisable that you receive an assessment from a community occupational therapist to ensure the equipment you request is in fact what is required.
2) Equipment consignment:
We offer a consignment program for those that wish to sell equipment and furniture. Our service will display, advertise and sell your unwanted items for a fee. Please contact us for further details about our consignment program.. For a list of what is on consignment, please see the website.
3) Sales:
We have a wide assortment of equipment that is reasonably priced. Money received by the sale of equipment assists us with our loaning of equipment ensuring that our equipment is repaired and maintained when needed. Please contact our office for available items for sale, as well, please view our website which has many items for sale.
