Home Sharing
Home sharing supports adults to live as independently as possible. In home sharing, an individual needing a residential support service and the person providing support live together in the same house. Support can be provided in the individual's home or the provider's home.
Both situations should feel like home for everyone. When home sharing occurs in the provider's home, individuals always have personal space which they can make their own.
Home sharing allow individuals and care providers to share many aspects of their lives, while also maintaining their separate lives. However, the care provider has a responsibility to provide support and assistance based on the specific needs and goals of the individual.
Home sharing enables individuals to live an adult life with the support required to meet their daily needs and allow for a level of independence that makes sense for the individual.
