Individualized Supports
Individualized supports are customized to who you are and the goals you want to achieve. Individualized Supports are provided on a one-on-one basis (not group) and can occur in a person’s home or in the community. The type of support provided can focus on skill development, community inclusion or outreach. This service is highly individualized. The person (and sometimes their personal support network) is involved in determining the type of support and where and when the support is provided. Supports respond to the person’s strengths, individuality and changing needs. People who choose these supports want to learn important life skills such as:

- Using public transportation
- Improving communication skills
- Budgeting and managing money
- Cooking and maintaining a home
- Increasing personal motivation
- Organizational skills
- Increasing your confidence and decision-making abilities
- Making friends and have professional relationships

This program is unique in that you (and your family if you wish) get to choose the type of supports and when the supports will be provided. The CLS hires support staff with diverse backgrounds in education, coaching, and mentoring.
