Speech & Language Therapy
Speech and Language Development services help to improve language and communication for individuals of all ages. Articulating thoughts through words is a difficult task to master. The complexity of language is a key reason that speech generation is challenging for people with developmental disabilities, yet communication skills are vital for successful community inclusion. The speech and language services offered by the Down Syndrome Resource Foundation are specifically designed to assist individuals to overcome these challenges.
A fun and friendly environment with resources that facilitate laughter provides an age- appropriate opportunity for learning. Led by our certified speech-language pathologists, our one-on-one approach effectively enhances language development by fostering skills that are targeted to the individual. Particular focus is placed on positive reinforcement during activitites involving language, speech, intelligibility and social communication.
