Early Intensive Behaviour Intervention
The Early Intensive Behaviour Intervention service is for families with child under age 6 who are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or another developmental disability.
First, a consultant meets with the family and child to complete a Core Skills Assessment. Next, based on the results of the assessment, the consultant develops an individualized curriculum for the child. The EIBI program uses the Autism Curriculum Encyclopedia, a premier online educational system developed by the New England Centre for Children. It provides an efficient way to assess, teach and evaluate progress using evidence-based procedures. The consultant provides ongoing training to the parents and team of behaviour interventionists on the implementation of the teaching programs and closely monitors the child's progress.
