C.A.R.E.- Child & Community Advocacy, Resources and Education Program
Child & Community Advocacy, Resources and Education (C.A.R.E.) Program

C. Child Health Promotion & Prevention: Sunnyhill Health Centre for Children - Outreach Seating Clinic. The Sunnyhill Seating team is onsite, along with the laboratory van. Children can be assessed, measured and fitted for their seating needs. The specialized equipment is manufactured on site in the laboratory van. Having this seating outreach clinic allows the families to have their needs met in an environment closer to home.

A. Community Advocacy & Capacity Building: The contribution of volunteers is vital to the NCDC. This program implements a recruitment plan, media campaign and a volunteer recognition program. Volunteers provide assistance with special events, promote awareness of NCDC services and assist with programming and administrative activities.

R. Resources, Therapeutic Toy, Book & Equipment Lending: The NCDC provides access to therapeutic toys, equipment and books for the purpose of promoting and increasing child development.

E. Community Education: Staff provide education to a cross section of our community including parents, service providers and child care providers. We inform, educate and advocate in such areas as: Child Development, inclusive practice, parenting & family relationship, behaviour, caring for at risk babies, children with disabilities, and transition to school.
